Position summary

The Business Analyst supports the business operations by analyzing business information, deriving insights, and helping to guide management's focus based on data. Analytic projects include establishing dashboard reporting of business metrics as well as individual projects to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of business operations. The Business Analyst will report to the Head of Business Operations and will act as a liaison to the information technology unit to support the implementation of data management solutions to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work across all GLEIF work units to understand business needs and to develop hypotheses
  • Develop and document business metrics to track program success
  • Establish and maintain accurate and robust senior management reporting
  • Assist the business decision making process by developing analytical models to assess business opportunities
  • Formulate clear and concise recommendations from technical analyses
  • Create engaging presentations for internal and external customers
  • Develop a deep understanding of relevant data sources and business intelligence
  • Collaborate with business partners on analysis projects
  • Contribute to the continuing improvement of the Global Legal Entity Identifier System (GLEIS) standards through best practice recommendations

Experience and competencies for success

  • Strong self-starter skills with at least 2-3 years of experience in a similar analyst function
  • Experience in an international and/or multi-cultural organizations
  • Advanced university or accredited degree in Statistics, Economics, or an applied statistical program highly preferred
  • Experience in programming in R and Python required
  • Knowledge of analytical tools and data visualization software
  • Experience in regression analysis and machine learning techniques
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Fluent spoken and written English, additional languages a plus (such as Arabic, French, Japanese, Spanish, or Russian)
  • Exceptional personal skills including social competency and strong cross-functional communication ability
  • Strong professional written communication skills
  • Flexible, energetic and able to work in a dynamic team work environment
