GLEIF manages a network of partners, the LEI issuing organizations, to provide trusted services and open, reliable data for unique legal entity identification worldwide. GLEIF services ensure the operational integrity of the Global LEI System and facilitate making the LEI a broad public good available on our website. Position summary

The GLEIF Secretary of the Board of Directors will assist the board and its committees in a timely and professional manner. This position requires a demonstrated ability with the adequate skills to manage and support the work of an international board of directors, expertise in corporate governance and board practices. The role implies a high level of professionalism and diplomacy in the cooperation with the stakeholders. We seek an individual with the ambition and skill to perform in a global organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize meetings together with the Chair
  • Draft meeting agendas, documents, presentations, minutes, background papers, conduct research, taking care of follow-up actions and their implementation, records keeping
  • creating and maintaining knowledge base
  • Maintain reporting framework inside GLEIF (Board-Management), towards the ROC (Board-ROC) according to applicable rules and regulations and external stakeholders where needed
  • Assisting the Chair and the Committee Chairs on a regular basis
  • Support the Chair and Chair of the Governance Committee with all aspects related to the Board’s succession program such as drafting application forms, coordinating interview and selection process of candidates
  • Coordinate relevant operational matters tasked by CEO or General Counsel
  • Maintenance of GLEIF’s contract database
  • Occasional support of the General Counsel
  • Stand in for the CEO’s Executive Assistant during absences

Experience and competencies for success

  • Foreign language or legal secretary
  • Experience in an international corporation or law firm
  • At least 3+ years of experience in a similar function
  • Familiarity with the operational and organizational environment of a foundation preferred
  • Exceptional personal skills including social competency, strong cross-functional communication, people skills and being very proactive
  • High energy, flexibility and to be engaged both inside and outside of normal business hours
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and a quick learner of processes and systems
  • Experience with BoardEffect a plus
  • Must be able to travel approximately two-four times a year (about 4 days) to support the in-person meetings
  • Fluent spoken and written English
Department: Legal Department
Reports into: General Counsel with a dotted line to the Chaiman of the Board
Management responsibility: No
Location: Frankfurt, Germany
Scope: Full-time
