Position summary

The Junior Controller supports all core controlling activities, including budgeting, forecasting,
financial analysis, reporting, and project controlling. The role is designed for an early-career finance
professional who already brings strong analytical capabilities, solid Excel skills, and a foundational
understanding of controlling principles. The Junior Controller will work closely with the Controlling
Team Lead and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.

This role offers significant learning opportunities, exposure to international operations, and the
chance to grow into broader responsibilities over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support preparation of budgets, forecasts, and periodic updates.
  • Perform variance analyses on actuals vs. plan and identify key drivers.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports and dashboards (monthly/quarterly).
  • Assist in cash-flow planning and follow-up analysis.
  • Support development of KPIs and management reporting packages.
  • Conduct cost analyses across Opex, Capex, and project-related spend.
  • Support project controlling activities, including planning and cost tracking.
  • Analyze trends and support identification of efficiency opportunities.
  • Provide data-driven support for business decisions and business cases.
  • Maintain high-quality Excel models and contribute to process automation.

Potential additional responsibilities (dependent on candidate’s experience):

  • Participation in selected accounting tasks.
  • Assist in business partner accreditation calculations.

Experience and competencies for success

Required

  • 1–2 years of experience in Controlling, Financial Planning & Analysis, or a related finance role.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel abilities (complex formulas, pivot tables, model
    structuring).
  • Good VBA (Macros) or automation skills.
  • Basic understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance & Controlling, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain numbers clearly.
  • High attention to detail, structured working style, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Comfortable working in an international, dynamic environment.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of IFRS or Swiss GAAP.
  • Experience with any ERP/financial systems (Diamant is an advantage).
  • Experience working in multinational or cross-functional teams.
  • First exposure to accounting principles.
