At GLEIF, we help organizations know who they are dealing with and verify who is authorized to act on their behalf. We support the Global LEI System as a public good, using open standards and freely accessible reference data to connect organizational identity across borders and systems.

The Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) identifies legal entities; the verifiable LEI (vLEI) builds on it to make organizational identity and representatives’ roles and authority digitally verifiable. Together, they help businesses, governments, regulators, and financial institutions reduce identity friction, improve transparency, and interact with greater confidence.
