GLEIF and Switzerland’s Federal Statistical Office have partnered to integrate official Swiss business registry data directly into LEI records via a new linking initiative. By embedding a URL in each LEI that connects to the Swiss UID register, users gain instant access to verified company information, eliminating the need for manual registry searches and translations. This streamlines global due diligence processes, such as Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Supplier (KYS), reduces operational friction, and enhances international visibility, particularly for Swiss SMEs, which comprise over 99% of the country’s businesses. The initiative strengthens the LEI system’s role as a globally trusted source of verifiable entity identity.
