Verknüpfung der Legal Entity Identifier mit Unternehmensregistern und anderen behördlichen Quellen
Durch die Verknüpfung lassen sich Unternehmen weltweit leichter identifizieren und auffinden. Das vereinfacht die Due-Diligence-Prozesse für Gegenparteien und erhöht die Transparenz bei globalen Transaktionen.
Jeder LEI-Eintrag enthält von lokaler Behörden registrierte wichtige Referenzinformationen, um eine klare und eindeutige Identifizierung von Rechtsträgern weltweit zu ermöglichen. Im Rahmen der Verknüpfung wird den LEI-Einträgen von Unternehmen, die bei teilnehmenden Behörden registriert sind, eine URL hinzugefügt, die den einfachen und direkten Zugang zu den amtlichen Registrierungsdaten des jeweiligen Unternehmens und den zugehörigen Dokumenten auf der Webseite des jeweiligen Registers ermöglicht.
Dadurch werden Know-Your-Customer (KYC)- und Know-Your-Supplier (KYS)-Prüfungen sowie andere Due-Diligence-Pflichten für Datennutzer weltweit erheblich vereinfacht. Globale Datennutzer müssen nicht länger erst die zuständige Registrierungsstelle ermitteln, die richtige Webseite finden, sie in ihre Sprache übersetzen und dann manuell nach einem Unternehmen anhand seiner Registrierungsnummer suchen.

Jedes Register enthält zusätzliche Daten zu den LEI-Referenzdaten, die sich je nach Register und nationaler Gesetzgebung unterscheiden. In der nachfolgenden Tabelle werden für jedes verknüpfte Register die zusätzlichen Daten angegeben. Hierzu gehören Informationen zu Führungskräften, weiteren bevollmächtigten Vertretern, letztlich begünstigten Eigentümern, Jahresabschlüssen, Anzahl der Beschäftigten und vieles mehr.
Die verfügbaren Daten unterscheiden sich nach Register und sind nicht immer kostenlos erhältlich.
